Senior Systems Software Engineer, Infrastructure

What you'll do

• Design and manage an enterprise software engineering platform to manage storage infrastructure and services.
• Design and expand REST APIs for on-demand storage management used by thousands of engineers.
• Build and integrate provisioning, metrics, monitoring, and software to enable storage service workflows.
• Develop tooling to automate the deployment and management of large-scale design-storage environments.
• Automate operational monitoring and alerting systems for critical infrastructure.
• Enable self-service consumption of resources for internal engineering teams.
• Perform technology evaluations and document general procedures and practices for system operations.

What we're looking for

• BS in Computer Science with 8+ years of experience, MS with 5+ years, or PhD with 3+ years of experience.
• Extensive experience building and owning large-scale, multi-threaded, distributed backend systems.
• Experience designing and building REST APIs in Python or Go.
• Background with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Background with telemetry stacks like Grafana, Prometheus, AlertManager, and Kibana.
• Strong collaborative and social skills to guide and influence within a dynamic matrix environment.
• Experience with open-source software, Linux storage problems, enterprise NAS solutions, distributed filesystems, or HPC cluster management tools (preferred).
