JOB TITLE: Senior Information System Security Officer(ISSO)
The Senior Information System Security Officer joins the Cyber & Analytics Business Area to support a large software development program. This role involves managing information systems security for software maintenance, development, and IT support across network, workstation, and server environments. You will develop and implement strategies to detect and mitigate threats, protect critical data sets, and perform vulnerability assessments. Key responsibilities include enforcing security policies, managing configuration for hardware and firmware, and overseeing Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts. You will maintain system security plans and documentation for Certification & Accreditation. Required skills include experience with encryption techniques, communication protocols, and security tools. The work focuses on maintaining operational security postures for complex information processing systems within a national security context, ensuring all architectures meet rigorous security requirements.
Implement and enforce information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies.
Evaluate security solutions to ensure they meet requirements for processing multiple types of information.
Manage configuration for information system security software, hardware, and firmware.
Analyze threats and develop methodologies for incident detection, reporting, and vulnerability remediation.
Maintain records for workstations, servers, routers, firewalls, and other network components.
Develop and maintain documentation for Certification & Accreditation and System Security Plans.
Manage Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs) by initiating responses and completing remediations.
Administer user identification and authentication mechanisms for the information system.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 12 years of relevant experience.
Additional experience may be substituted for a degree.
TS/SCI with polygraph security clearance.
At least 10 years of experience as an ISSO maintaining secure information system operations in isolated, connected, and standalone environments.
At least 5 years of experience using tools to support IAVA management.
At least 5 years of experience using tools to support the preparation, maintenance, and management of SSPs and other security documentation.
In-depth experience proposing, coordinating, implementing, and enforcing information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies (preferred).
DoD 8570 compliance with IAT Level II or higher (preferred).
DoD 8570 compliance with IAM Level II or higher (preferred).
