This role involves managing the full development lifecycle from concept through testing and qualification for aircraft fuel systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include the detailed design of components such as tubing, pumps, filtration, gauging, venting, and refueling systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams including software engineering and manufacturing. The candidate will utilize Siemens NX or comparable CAD software like CATIA, Creo, or SolidWorks, and may use one-dimensional fluid analysis tools such as AMESIM, Flowmaster, or Easy5. The role requires expertise in fluid mechanics and mechanical design fundamentals to solve complex technical challenges involving high-performance, resilient, and scalable fuel systems for advanced aerospace platforms.

What you'll do

  • Design and develop aircraft fuel systems for multiple air vehicle programs from concept through testing.
  • Perform detailed design of components including tubing, pumps, filtration, gauging, venting, and refueling systems.
  • Manage the full development lifecycle including component selection, prototype builds, and system integration.
  • Execute qualification and testing for fuel system hardware across various aerospace platforms.
  • Integrate fuel system hardware with software, manufacturing, and other cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Own increasingly complex fuel system designs in collaboration with senior engineers and architects.

What we're looking for

  • B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience designing aircraft fuel systems or closely related aerospace fluid systems.
  • Experience supporting the product lifecycle from concept through testing and qualification.
  • Proficiency with Siemens NX or comparable CAD software such as CATIA, Creo, or SolidWorks.
  • Strong understanding of fluid mechanics and mechanical design fundamentals.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance.
  • Experience with supplier work, component selection, prototype development, or 1D fluid analysis tools (preferred).
