The position requires conducting technical planning, cost and risk analyses, and research on COTS components. The work focuses on the next-generation life extension of the Trident II D5 strategic weapons system in a safety-critical environment.

What you'll do

Perform requirements analysis, definition, and management for D5LE2 subsystems and system elements.
Utilize MBSE and digital engineering tools to develop and maintain system architectures and models.
Identify and resolve system design weaknesses to support engineering decision-making.
Conduct technical planning, cost and risk analyses, and supportability analyses for subsystems.
Develop and allocate system requirements to lower-level elements and components.
Research vendor products, COTS components, and specifications to determine design feasibility.
Generate technical engineering products using established standards and procedures throughout the development life cycle.
Evaluate systems to ensure designs meet governmental security specifications and accreditation requirements.

What we're looking for

U.S. citizenship is required.
Must be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with 5 years of experience, or a Master's degree with 3 years of experience.
Fully proficient in systems engineering principles and the full system development life cycle for major defense programs.
Fully proficient with system modeling tools such as Cameo/MagicDraw or DOORS and MBSE methodologies.
Fully proficient in requirements management tools and Microsoft Office applications.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present concepts to internal and external stakeholders.
Success leading the systems development life cycle with strong proficiency in requirements management and system modeling tools (preferred).
