What you'll do

Develop and lead software for critical modules including ASIC firmware, telemetry processing, power control, and autonomous capabilities.
Design and implement security-hardened firmware within Linux and real-time operating system (RTOS) environments.
Drive security architecture for the ASIC by performing threat modeling and identifying potential vulnerabilities.
Write code to manage hardware interfaces using protocols such as I2C, I3C, SPI, UART, USB, JTAG, and Ethernet.
Support custom silicon chip and board design from initial concept through secure bring-up and integration.
Implement security-by-design principles and follow secure coding standards for all satellite operations software.
Partner with test engineers to integrate security validation into manufacturing and production environments.

What we're looking for

Candidates must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or granted asylum/refugee status for export control compliance.
7+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
5+ years of programming experience with at least one language such as C/C++, Python, Java, or Perl.
7+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems including reliability and scaling.
Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
Deep expertise in secure embedded firmware development for bare-metal or RTOS-based systems under hardware resource constraints.
Experience with security-aware software design, threat modeling, security reviews, and penetration testing for embedded systems.
Experience with debugging tools like GDB for testing code on FPGA or prototype chips.
Experience in system-level architecture and board-level design (preferred).
Background working with secure boot chains, trusted execution environments, and cryptography libraries (preferred).
Knowledge of security standards, hardware security modules, or aerospace/defense compliance requirements (preferred).
