Senior Director - Engineering Project and Program Management (Security Business Group) leads a high-performing program management organization within the Unified Network Access and Network Security Engineering Group. This leader is responsible for driving the strategy, execution, and delivery of large-scale, complex engineering programs while establishing vision, processes, tools, and standards to ensure predictable, scalable delivery. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams across product management, engineering, and operations to resolve roadblocks and manage end-to-end program lifecycles from planning through launch. Key responsibilities include mentoring a global team, identifying risks, and championing Agile, Lean, and AI-native approaches. The position requires expertise in managing technical programs for cloud-native or AI-native products within the network security domain. Candidates must possess deep experience in engineering program management to solve complex challenges in delivering advanced network access and security solutions.
Lead a high-performing program management organization to deliver large-scale engineering initiatives for network access and security products.
Define the vision, strategy, and standards for program management processes, tools, and scalable delivery methods.
Manage end-to-end program execution from initial requirements and planning through final product launch.
Establish critical metrics and reporting mechanisms to measure program effectiveness and communicate progress to executive leadership.
Build, mentor, and retain a world-class team while fostering a culture of accountability and transparency.
Champion Agile, Lean, and AI-native methodologies to improve program management and delivery workflows.
Identify and proactively mitigate risks and dependencies across complex, multi-functional engineering projects.
Represent the engineering group in cross-organizational forums and provide regular updates to senior leadership.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience leading large complex TPM organizations.
15+ years of experience in the software industry with a background in engineering program management and leadership in a large, matrixed technology organization.
Experience leading technical programs for AI-native or cloud-native products.
Experience in Agile, Lean, and modern program management methodologies.
Experience with Cisco's security or networking technologies (preferred).
Proven experience as a TPM leader in a hyperscale cloud environment, preferably with a security background (preferred).
Master's Degree, PMP, PgMP, or other relevant program management certifications (preferred).
