As a Senior Development Fabrication Technician within the Mechanical Services team, you will build in-house prototype hardware for high-priority defense programs. You will manage the manufacturing process from concept to completion, fabricating low-volume structural prototypes, custom chassis, and complex weldments in a high-tempo R&D environment. Your daily responsibilities include interpreting dynamic CAD drawings, performing layout, welding, drilling, grinding, and manual machining, as well as designing weld fixtures to maintain strict tolerances. You will provide critical feedback to design engineers regarding manufacturability and solve shop floor challenges. Required skills include over a decade of experience in GMAW, FCAW, and GTAW welding for various metals, proficiency in sheet metal fabrication, and the ability to read complex engineering drawings with GD&T. This role addresses the technical challenge of rapid prototyping for critical national security hardware.
