Senior Data Engineer, BizTech

What you'll do

• Lead the design, implementation, and testing of data systems from architecture through production.
• Build batch and real-time data systems to support critical business needs and products.
• Design and optimize data models to meet specific business and product requirements.
• Ensure system quality, performance, and stability through rigorous monitoring and QA practices.
• Advance third-party data integrations and improve frameworks for data exchange and lineage.
• Contribute to long-term data strategies and influence engineering practices across the organization.
• Mentor team members on best practices for data quality and governance.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's/Master’s degree in CS/EE or a PhD with 6+ years of experience.
• 9+ years of relevant experience for candidates without a PhD.
• Extensive experience designing, building, and operating distributed data platforms like Spark, Kafka, or Flink at scale.
• Proficiency in Java, Scala, or Python along with strong SQL querying skills.
• Proven track record of designing and optimizing batch and real-time data pipelines.
• Expertise in data modeling, warehousing, and working with relational and columnar databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redshift, or BigQuery.
• Experience integrating machine learning models into data systems (preferred).
• Strong leadership, mentorship, and communication skills to influence stakeholders and guide team members.
