Senior Customer Engineer

What you'll do

• Lead technical discovery and build bespoke architectures tailored to public sector procurement and compliance standards.
• Deliver product demonstrations and Proofs of Concept (PoCs) across Cloudflare’s security, networking, and developer platforms.
• Manage the full customer lifecycle from initial onboarding and implementation through long-term adoption and expansion.
• Monitor customer health scores and telemetry to resolve integration bottlenecks in municipal and educational infrastructures.
• Drive revenue growth by identifying cross-sell and up-sell opportunities based on product usage data.
• Conduct technical Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) to translate platform capabilities into ROI for C-level executives.
• Utilize AI agents and internal platforms to automate routine tasks like RFP responses and sandbox provisioning.
• Act as a trusted advisor to maintain deep relationships with public sector stakeholders throughout the customer journey.

What we're looking for

• Proven experience working with or selling into SLED, Local Government, or Municipal agencies.
• Experience in a customer-facing technical role such as Solutions Engineering, Customer Engineering, Sales Engineering, or Forward Deployed Engineer.
• Broad technical expertise in web security, networking (routing, DNS, DDoS mitigation), cloud infrastructure, and enterprise architecture.
• Proven track record of operating in a quota-carrying or revenue-aligned environment with an understanding of SaaS metrics.
• Exceptional presentation and stakeholder management skills to communicate between technical details and executive business strategy.
• Experience building, deploying, or architecting solutions using Cloudflare's developer platform and AI ecosystem (preferred).
• Experience with prompt engineering, Large Language Model orchestration, or Retrieval-Augmented Generation architectures (preferred).
• Export control laws, including the U.S. Export Administration Regulations.
