Senior Counsel, Commercial Transactions, Autonomous Vehicles

What you'll do

• Draft and negotiate new agreements governing autonomous vehicle and delivery use cases.
• Interpret and expand existing contracts to support relationships with AV companies, OEMs, and fleet operators.
• Advise business clients on data, intellectual property, regulatory, safety, and privacy principles in global environments.
• Negotiate with external partners while integrating risk management and legal controls into outward-facing terms.
• Provide commercial perspectives to ensure regulatory and safety considerations are integrated into new product programs.
• Support the commercialization of emerging technologies including drones, VTOLs, and other transportation innovations.
• Partner with cross-functional teams like Engineering and Product to launch autonomous and electric vehicle products.

What we're looking for

• J.D. and license to practice law in at least one state.
• Minimum of 8 years of commercial legal experience in private practice, in-house, and/or government.
• At least 1 year of applicable commercial transactions experience.
• Experience with autonomous vehicles, aviation, vehicle fleets, or on-demand mobility or delivery platforms (preferred).
• At least two years of in-house experience (preferred).
• Commercial and contracting experience in a regulated industry across multiple markets (preferred).
• Experience in an adjacent legal specialty such as product, regulatory, privacy, insurance, real estate, or intellectual property (preferred).
• Ability to draft contract language efficiently without the assistance of templates or prior agreements (preferred).
