Senior Controls/Automation Engineer

What you'll do

• Design and implement complex control algorithms for controller design, optimization, and signal processing.
• Serve as a technical expert for control, optimization, and calibration subsystems to make critical technical decisions.
• Coordinate and execute testing processes and design verifications in lab test benches and cleanroom environments.
• Define system architecture and specifications while ensuring commonality across products and subsystems.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers through technical guidance, coaching, and performance appraisals.
• Perform feasibility studies and support the development of product roadmaps and system specifications.
• Troubleshoot control system failures and perform root cause analysis for fielded units in manufacturing factories.
• Document work results including system requirements, design specifications, procedures, and training materials.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Controls, Mechanical, Computer, Chemical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering or Physics.
• Master's or PhD is preferred.
• Must have 5 years of relevant industry experience.
• Specialization in advanced control systems or plasma physics (preferred).
• Courses in linear systems, feedback control, optimization, signal processing, estimation, and non-linear systems are highly regarded.
• Excellent knowledge of and experience with Matlab and Simulink.
• Working knowledge of C/C++ and Python (desirable).
• Must be legally authorized to access controlled technology as defined by U.S. Export Administration Regulations.
