TL;DR · Senior Computer Vision Architect

The Senior Computer Vision Architect joins the Video Computer Vision and Video Engineering teams to develop real-time on-device computer vision, machine perception, and image quality technologies. This role involves leading cross-functional initiatives to transform research into production features while making critical architecture decisions that balance algorithm performance against imaging pipelines, system resources, and real-time constraints. The architect will evaluate emerging techniques like vision transformers, foundation models, and vision-language models for use in resource-constrained products. Key responsibilities include mentoring engineers, influencing hardware and software roadmaps, and presenting technical recommendations to leadership. Required expertise includes multi-modal perception systems, sensor fusion, and specific areas such as SLAM, tracking, classification, calibration, PnP-based pose estimation, scene understanding, human representation, and image enhancement. The role focuses on optimizing image signal processing performance under tight power and latency constraints for various products.

What you'll do

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to transform computer vision research into production-ready features.
  • Make architectural decisions balancing algorithm performance against system resources and real-time constraints.
  • Develop creative solutions within hardware and software constraints to unlock new perception capabilities.
  • Influence the roadmaps of hardware, software, and machine learning teams.
  • Present technical recommendations and results to senior and executive leadership.
  • Mentor engineers and provide technical direction for algorithm design and embedded systems.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies like vision transformers and foundation models for resource-constrained products.

What we're looking for

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 20 years of relevant, proven experience.
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional initiatives that transform state-of-the-art computer vision research into production-ready features.
  • Deep understanding of multi-modal perception systems, sensor fusion, and diverse imaging technologies.
  • Expertise in at least one area including SLAM, tracking, classification, calibration, PnP-based pose estimation, scene understanding, human representation, or image enhancement.
  • Strong leadership skills to bridge the gap between high-level algorithm design and low-level system optimization under power and latency constraints.
  • Proven track record of designing custom silicon, sensors, or optics (preferred).
  • Experience with vision transformers, foundation models, and vision-language models in resource-constrained environments (preferred).
