Senior Architect, Cloud Platform

What you'll do

• Own the end-to-end architecture and roadmap for the cloud SaaS platform.
• Define architecture principles, reference designs, and standards for services, APIs, and infrastructure.
• Lead architecture design reviews and document key technical decisions and trade-offs.
• Architect services for mobile app connectivity, including data sync and secure uploads.
• Design high-throughput ingestion pipelines for continuous biosensor and user-generated data.
• Design data storage architectures for time-series data, user profiles, and derived insights.
• Architect secure, performant APIs with clear standards for authentication and rate limiting.
• Define interfaces and data flows for integrating machine learning and generative AI capabilities.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in software engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in an architect, principal, or technical lead role for large-scale cloud or SaaS platforms.
• Proven experience architecting cloud-native backends that serve mobile applications at consumer scale.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architectures, and API design (REST, GraphQL, or gRPC).
• Strong experience with Azure cloud services or equivalent at production scale.
• Experience designing data storage and processing for high-volume or time-series data.
• Experience integrating ML models or AI services into production systems.
• Experience designing systems that handle sensitive data under HIPAA, PHI, GDPR, or similar privacy frameworks.
• Hands-on ability to prototype, review code, and engage deeply in technical detail with excellent communication skills.
• Experience building partner ecosystems in digital health, wearables, IoT, fitness, or consumer health technology (preferred).
• Familiarity with health data standards and platforms such as FHIR, HL7, Apple HealthKit, and Google Health Connect (preferred).
• Experience with consent management platforms and privacy-by-design practices (preferred).
• Experience with event streaming technologies and API management tooling (preferred).
• Background in data infrastructure including SQL, NoSQL, Data Lakes, and Blob Storage in a cloud-native context (preferred).
