Senior Applied Scientist, Amazon Leo Data Science Platform

What you'll do

• Build and evaluate machine learning models to improve fraud detection accuracy and inference.
• Develop rules and ML models to prevent Customer Terminal usage fraud and abuse.
• Source data and write queries to aid in data extraction for analysis.
• Productionalize models and build systems to deploy solutions into production environments.
• Identify and isolate issues using analytics and statistical modeling.
• Monitor customer experience activity to ensure systems do not adversely affect the user experience.
• Develop services to ingest, transform, and aggregate data from various network devices.

What we're looking for

• Candidates must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, refugee, or granted asylum.
• 3+ years of experience building machine learning models for business applications.
• A PhD, or a Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience.
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python, or related languages.
• Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning.
• Experience with modeling tools such as R, scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, MxNet, Tensorflow, numpy, and scipy (preferred).
• Experience with large scale distributed systems such as Hadoop or Spark (preferred).
