What you'll do

  • Develop and author airworthiness certification and conformance plans for developmental and production aircraft.
  • Perform technical airworthiness planning, tracking, and verification within a digital environment.
  • Negotiate airworthiness bases of certification and means of compliance with internal teams and customer partners.
  • Guide technical reviews across various engineering disciplines throughout the system design and test processes.
  • Translate customer requirements into specific criteria and derived requirements through functional and process analyses.
  • Manage the lifecycle of military flight releases and other customer-specific airworthiness approvals.
  • Maintain airworthiness data in a digital infrastructure linked to requirements, schedules, and risk assessments.
  • Develop creative solutions to resolve technical and execution challenges during the product lifecycle.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or an aviation-related engineering degree.
  • 8+ years of airworthiness engineering experience.
  • Experience establishing and maintaining relationships with DoW and FAA airworthiness authorities.
  • Experience with DoW Airworthiness Policy Directives, Instructions, and Airworthiness Bulletins.
  • Proven experience working DoW and FAA Airworthiness processes, including MIL-HDBK-516 series documents, for developmental aircraft.
  • Experience developing and managing Airworthiness plans and tracking of Airworthiness criterions.
  • Experience with manned or UAS developmental Military aircraft.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
  • Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline (preferred).
  • 15+ years of airworthiness engineering experience (preferred).
  • Experience with large UAS airworthiness authorizations and systems engineering (preferred).
  • Previous role as an Airworthiness Engineering Lead or Airworthiness Engineer (preferred).
  • Experience on a team that executed first flight on manned or large UAS developmental aircraft (preferred).
  • Experience working with the Department of War as a contractor (preferred).
