What you'll do

Diagnose business problems by mapping workflows and identifying constraints to determine if AI is the appropriate solution.
Own AI initiatives end-to-end from stakeholder discovery and technical design through implementation and deployment.
Design and ship AI-powered solutions quickly to deliver working prototypes with measurable business value.
Integrate AI capabilities into existing systems using APIs, orchestration tools, and the GitLab Duo Agent Platform.
Improve organizational flow by building solutions that reduce bottlenecks and increase throughput.
Define and track success using business metrics, flow metrics, and feedback loops.
Evaluate tools and document patterns to create reusable foundations that help the team scale impact.
Act as "Customer Zero" by leveraging GitLab's AI offerings and providing real-world usage insights to R&D.

What we're looking for

Proficiency in at least one modern scripting language such as Python or JavaScript/TypeScript.
Deep practical experience with prompt engineering, model selection, cost-performance trade-offs, and agentic architecture patterns.
Ability to write clean, maintainable code and build production-quality solutions independently.
Strong understanding of REST APIs, GraphQL, and integration patterns.
Experience with AI safety, including input validation, output filtering, and prompt injection defenses.
Knowledge of enterprise business systems like Salesforce, Marketo, Zendesk, and Workato.
Ability to map complex workflows, identify constraints, and track success through business and flow metrics.
Experience with GitLab platform and CI/CD workflows (preferred).
