The Security Software Engineer will provide security engineering support for the Global Decision Support System program, which serves as the primary command and control system for the US Air Force Air Mobility Command. Working within an AWS Cloud One environment, the engineer will ensure secure operations in accordance with Department of War Cybersecurity requirements. Daily responsibilities include coordinating quarterly Security Technical Implementation Guides, integrating security controls into CI/CD pipelines, and remediating vulnerabilities. The role requires monitoring Nessus scans and utilizing AWS-native tools like Security Hub, GuardDuty, and Config, alongside Trend Micro Deep Security. Key tasks involve managing IAM policies, security groups, and network ACLs while designing encryption solutions for data at rest and in transit. Candidates must possess a CompTIA Security+ Certification and experience with secure development practices.
Coordinate efforts to address quarterly Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and plans of action for compliance.
Integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with DevOps and engineering teams.
Identify, analyze, and remediate security vulnerabilities and misconfigurations within AWS environments.
Monitor Nessus scan results and coordinate the remediation and burndown of findings.
Monitor cloud security posture using AWS-native tools and third-party solutions like Trend Micro Deep Security.
Manage and maintain AWS security policies, including IAM, security groups, and network ACLs.
Design, deploy, and manage encryption solutions for data at rest and in transit within AWS.

What we're looking for
Must be a U.S. Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62.
Must be a U.S. Citizen to obtain the required security clearance.
Must have the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Clearance.
Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
Must have CompTIA Security+ Certification.
Must have 5+ years of experience implementing and sustaining secure development practices and operations, including scanning and vulnerability remediation.
Prior experience supporting GDSS or MAFC2 Systems (preferred).
