The Secure Systems Engineer - Platform Architecture Security Team joins a group responsible for connecting hardware, software, and servers into a unified system. What you'll do

Define security requirements and architecture for distributed systems that enforce product security policies.
Identify emerging threats and develop comprehensive threat models for security services.
Manage security policies to ensure end-to-end security guarantees across all Apple products.
Build prototypes and tooling to validate security designs and automate policy enforcement.
Lead cross-functional teams to resolve system-level issues during the service lifecycle.
Advocate for robust security designs and best practices across engineering teams.
Track emerging security trends to proactively update PKI architecture and signing policies.

What we're looking for

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related engineering degree, or equivalent job-related experience.
Experience applying security practices to the design, development, or operation of production services.
Experience with common programming languages such as Python or Go.
Experience conducting security architecture reviews, threat modeling, or identifying vulnerabilities in complex distributed systems.
Experience with cryptography and security protocols, including at least two of PKI, TLS, Key Management, Secure Boot, or Authentication/Authorization.
10+ years of relevant industry experience (preferred).
Experience designing and developing secure services and scalable infrastructure for highly available applications (preferred).
Experience with systems programming languages such as C or C++ (preferred).
