As a Senior System Security Software Engineer, Platform Attestation, you will join the cloudOS System Software Engineering team to develop secure server software and manage the trust boundary between physical hardware and hosted services. You will own the attestation architecture for the server platform, bringing new chassis designs into attestation from the ground up by defining measurements, sealing component identities during manufacturing, and verifying them after deployment. Your daily work involves building kernel drivers, runtime libraries, frameworks, and daemons to ensure machines remain in a known good state. You will utilize C, C++, Swift, and Objective-C while applying expertise in cryptography, PKI, HSM-backed certificates, Secure Boot, and firmware measurement. The role addresses the critical challenge of securing data center hardware against remote attackers and physical tampering by ensuring every component is cryptographically verified.

What you'll do

Own the attestation architecture and strategy for the server platform.
Extend the chassis attestation chain to every component containing firmware.
Integrate new chassis designs into the attestation system from the ground up.
Define measurements and seal component identities into signed manifests during manufacturing.
Develop on-node attestation software to verify machine states across the fleet.
Perform security assessments and code reviews for systems software and services.
Document end-to-end security models for hardware and software interactions.

What we're looking for

7+ years of experience.
Proficiency in C/C++.
Experience developing and maintaining security-critical codebases.
Understanding of applied cryptography, hardware cryptography, and key management including PKI and HSM-backed certificate issuance.
Experience with mutual authentication and hardware-based attestation, including Secure Boot, firmware measurement, and challenge-response protocols.
Strong understanding of hardware/software interactions and low-level software.
Background in design of secure embedded systems and bringing new hardware platforms from manufacturing into production (preferred).
Experience with server component firmware, ARM SoC architecture, and related system management components (preferred).
