Scientist, Software Engineer / Cloud Architect joins the Mission Networks team to develop secure, reliable telecommunications networks and information management systems for air traffic control and state agencies. This role involves designing, developing, and fielding cloud architectures throughout the systems development lifecycle, including technical baseline development, requirement definition, and system testing. The architect will build large-scale distributed systems using microservices and containers while maintaining virtualized environments. Key responsibilities include supporting business development through white papers and trade studies, collaborating with security teams on controls, and providing hands-on guidance to R&D teams. Technical requirements include expertise in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud; Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or Ansible; container orchestration via Kubernetes and Docker; scripting in Python or Bash; and experience with RESTful Web Services and databases such as Cassandra or MariaDB.

Create and maintain virtualized, containerized, and Cloud-ready environments for software teams.

What we're looking for
Must have a Bachelor's degree and at least 12 years of relevant experience, a Graduate Degree and 10 years of experience, or 16 years of software experience without a degree.
Ability to obtain and maintain an FAA public trust which requires U.S. Citizenship.
Experience designing large-scale distributed systems using microservices and containers.
Expertise in Cloud Service Providers (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
5+ years leading software teams to deliver enterprise solutions implementing RESTful Web Services, Microservices, and/or Cloud components (preferred).
3+ years of experience leveraging CSPs for hosting solutions involving containers, VPC, IaC, and Security Groups (preferred).
