The Scientist, Signal Processing will join the Agile Missions portfolio to define and mature signal- and mission-processing capabilities for evolving multi-mission payload architectures. The role involves designing signal-processing algorithms for time-frequency analysis, detection, estimation, and optimization while developing multi-sensor fusion, data association, target-geolocation, and tracking approaches. Key responsibilities include building models and simulations to assess performance, collaborating with firmware and software teams to transition algorithms to programmable logic, and supporting integration, verification, and anomaly resolution. Required expertise includes digital signal processing, communications theory, and experience in aerospace or space architectures. Candidates should possess skills in array signal processing, radar signal processing, or machine learning. Technical proficiency in MATLAB, Simulink, Python, C, or C++ is preferred for developing on-orbit edge processing solutions.
Define signal- and mission-processing architectures, functional flows, requirements, and verification strategies for multi-mission payloads.
Design and develop signal-processing algorithms for time-frequency analysis, detection, estimation, and optimization.
Develop multi-sensor fusion, data-association, target-geolocation, and tracking approaches for multi-mission architectures.
Build and use models and simulations to assess algorithm performance, latency, and resource use.
Transition algorithms to programmable logic or embedded software by collaborating with firmware and systems integration teams.
Support integration, verification, validation, anomaly resolution, and technical-risk closure across the product lifecycle.
Produce technical analyses and artifacts for internal and customer reviews and brief results to program stakeholders.
What we're looking for
Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or an equivalent technical discipline.
10 or more years of relevant experience.
Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance.
Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) access.
Demonstrated expertise in digital signal processing and communications theory, including algorithm development and implementation in firmware or software.
Experience in systems engineering or a related engineering role supporting aerospace, space, or multi-mission payload architectures.
Depth in one or more areas including array signal processing, statistical signal processing, radar signal processing, modern communications, electronic warfare, or machine learning.
