The Satellite RF Test SW Dev Engineer joins the Satellite RF Hardware Design Team within the broader Amazon Leo RF and Modem team. In this role, you will architect and build software to automate hardware test systems, develop infrastructure for test case execution, and create automation to support CI/CD processes. You will also manage data collection, perform analysis, and own the software quality and release process while working with electrical test equipment. The position requires proficiency in C#, C++, Java, or Perl, along with experience in Object Oriented Design and developing multi-threaded, distributed systems. This role focuses on building scalable test automation solutions for first and second generation satellites, specifically supporting design validation, space qualification, and production testing of spacecraft gigabit speed modems, millimeter-wave amplifiers, frequency converters, and LNAs to ensure hardware is space-worthy.
Architect and build software to automate hardware test systems.
Develop software infrastructure to support the execution of test cases.
Build automation for development processes including CI/CD pipelines.
Enable automated data collection and analysis for satellite components.
Work directly with electrical test equipment to validate designs.
Own and execute the software quality and release process.
Document software requirements from users and deliver end-user documentation.
What we're looking for
Candidates must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or granted asylum/refugee status for export control compliance.
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field is required.
At least 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience is required.
At least 2 years of experience in design or architecture of new and existing systems using design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
At least 1 year of experience developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed software applications using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
At least 1 year of Object Oriented Design experience is required.
Experience programming with at least one software programming language is required.
Preferred experience includes 3+ years of full software development life cycle including coding standards, code reviews, and source control management.
