What you'll do

  • Provide materials expertise and technical leadership for metallic systems across various aviation components.
  • Perform material selection for new designs and troubleshoot manufacturing issues during new-make and repair processes.
  • Manage the implementation of new materials and processes while reviewing supplier manufacturing processes.
  • Plan and execute material test programs to ensure products meet business standards and requirements.
  • Drive business strategy for improving special processes in primary processing, specifically forging and heat treatment.
  • Define technical specifications and establish process limits for nickel superalloy life-controlled rotating part forgings.
  • Present technical data to internal and external customers while supporting supply chain audits and pre-production meetings.
  • Document all technical data generated for assigned projects in accordance with engineering policies.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor of Science in Materials Engineering, Materials Science, or Metallurgy (or a high school diploma/GED with 9 years of engineering/science experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in disciplinary engineering and/or science.
  • Must be a U.S. Person as defined by export-control regulations.
  • Master of Science in Materials Engineering, Materials Science, or Metallurgy (preferred).
  • Experience with aerospace or gas turbine industry manufacturing, quality systems, and field support (preferred).
  • Experience with primary processing such as forging and heat treatment of rotating part forgings (preferred).
  • In-depth understanding of metallurgy, manufacturing processes, and inspections used in the Aerospace industry (preferred).
  • Authorized to work in the United States for this opening.
