JOB TITLE: Risk, Technology Operational Risk – CORE Engineering Risk, Vice President, Dallas The Operational Risk Department seeks a professional to join the AI Coverage team, focusing on strengthening oversight of operational risks arising from artificial intelligence adoption. This role involves identifying, monitoring, and assessing risks associated with AI platforms, foundational models, agentic systems, and supporting infrastructure. The candidate will utilize knowledge of RAG systems, vector databases, and MCP servers to ensure compliance with frameworks like NIST AI 600-1 and the EU AI Act. Success requires expertise in operational resilience, third-party risk management, or data governance specifically applied to AI/ML systems and complex technical environments.

What you'll do

  • Identify and analyze operational risks related to AI system resilience, infrastructure outages, and model degradation.
  • Map AI systems to Business Continuity Plans and ensure they have alternate workaround strategies and impact tolerances.
  • Oversee vendor due diligence and SLA enforcement for third-party AI services, foundation models, and supply chain risks.
  • Apply data governance standards to AI datasets to ensure they are inventoried, risk-tiered, and have assigned owners.
  • Evaluate data quality controls and lineage for datasets feeding AI model pipelines to identify potential data defects.
  • Conduct data analysis on AI availability, observability telemetry, and vendor performance to identify trends and risks.
  • Facilitate operational risk event reporting and contribute to divisional risk profile assessments for new AI deployments.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and industry standards to ensure compliance with AI resilience and data governance obligations.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Business and Technology Management, Finance, Data Science, or related disciplines.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in operational risk, resilience/BCP, third-party risk management, data governance, or enterprise AI/ML systems.
  • Direct experience applying operational resilience, third-party risk management, and/or data governance disciplines specifically to AI/ML systems.
  • Strong understanding of AI/ML architecture including foundation models, LLMs, RAG systems, agentic AI frameworks, and vector databases.
  • Knowledge of control frameworks such as NIST 800-53, NIST AI 600-1, ISO 27001, or the EU AI Act.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present with impact and influence.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint/OneDrive.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISA, CISM, CBCP/MBCI, CTPRP, or related AI/ML, data, or resilience certifications (preferred).
  • SQL, graph databases, and Tableau proficiency (preferred).
  • Project management experience (preferred).
