As Quality Engineering Manager, Payments Technology - Senior Vice President, you will lead the test strategy for CitiDirect, a digital banking platform providing global transaction capabilities across payments, liquidity, and trade. You will direct multiple testing teams to establish standards for test automation and User Acceptance Testing, ensuring all releases meet high quality benchmarks. Your daily work involves designing UAT scripts, managing team performance, and coordinating cross-team dependencies to reduce production risk. You will utilize tools like Quality Center, Postman, Rest Assured, and SoapUI, while leveraging Playwright, TypeScript, and JavaScript to build scalable automation frameworks. The role requires expertise in CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and GenAI workflows to validate mission-critical payments technology and move manual QA functions toward a modern, automated testing organization.
Own the test strategy for the CitiDirect digital banking platform and its connected systems.
Direct multiple testing teams to set priorities and resolve complex issues with significant business impact.
Design and implement User Acceptance Testing scripts and plans with project managers and business users.
Establish testing standards and quality benchmarks for automation, documentation, and release processes.
Coordinate cross-team testing dependencies to maintain release schedules and reduce production risk.
Build and maintain scalable test automation frameworks using Playwright and TypeScript/JavaScript.
Integrate continuous testing workflows and automated regression triggering into CI/CD pipelines.
Manage team performance, including hiring, coaching, compensation decisions, and career planning.
What we're looking for
10+ years of experience in a testing environment, including senior level people management experience.
Deep understanding of Systems Development Life Cycle processes and end-to-end testing methodologies.
Hands-on experience with test management tools such as Quality Center and related testing platforms.
Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills with the ability to negotiate and influence at a senior level.
Strong analytical skills and a track record of leading teams to deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a related field.
Master's degree (preferred).
Extensive hands-on experience designing and implementing scalable test automation frameworks from scratch using Playwright and TypeScript/JavaScript.
In-depth experience establishing continuous testing workflows within CI/CD pipelines, including automated regression triggering and pipeline hard gating.
Strong background in leveraging Docker and Kubernetes to containerize test suites and scale distributed test execution (strongly preferred).
Experience using AI Harnesses and creating custom AI agents or automated agentic workflows to optimize the software testing lifecycle (strongly preferred).
