The QA Software Engineer NC Hybrid joins the Cisco AI and Automation portfolio team to support the Circuit platform, a central AI engine for business process automation. In this role, you will architect and maintain automated regression, end-to-end, and performance test suites to replace manual processes. You will build scalable frameworks, integrate them into CI/CD pipelines, and utilize AI-assisted coding tools like Cursor, Copilot, and Claude Code to generate stable, secure test artifacts. Key responsibilities include testing REST and GraphQL APIs, executing load tests with k6 or JMeter, and validating LLM features like response quality and inter-token latency. You will use Playwright with TypeScript/JavaScript, Python with Pytest, and Selenium to ensure functional quality and reliability for AI-driven business transformation.
Architect, build, and maintain automated regression and end-to-end test suites using Playwright, Python, and Selenium.
Design and automate REST and GraphQL API test suites to validate functional correctness and performance.
Execute load, stress, and soak tests using k6 or JMeter to track response times and AI-specific metrics.
Use AI-assisted coding tools to generate regression suites while validating code for stability and security compliance.
Develop testing approaches for AI/LLM features to validate model response quality and agent workflows.
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and build dashboards to communicate quality metrics to leadership.
Define automation standards and mentor peers to embed automation-first testing into the core development lifecycle.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree with 4+ years, Master's degree with 3+ years, or PhD with 1+ year of related experience in Computer Science, AI/ML, or a related technical field.
Experience in test automation and regression framework development with a deep understanding of functional quality assurance.
Experience with Playwright (TypeScript/JavaScript) for E2E/UI automation and/or Python with Pytest/Robot Framework.
Experience with REST API testing and familiarity with Selenium.
Knowledge of software development lifecycles, including CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar) and automated testing best practices.
Experience in AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) and Agile/Git workflows.
Experience testing AI/ML-powered web applications, including LLM-based features, chatbots, or AI agent workflows (preferred).
Hands-on experience with performance/load testing (k6, JMeter) and AI/LLM performance metrics (preferred).
