QA Engineer Lead – Guideware serves as a critical role within the IBM Consulting team, where you will design and execute testing for applications and systems implemented using Guidewire packages. You will be responsible for creating optimized test scenarios, identifying data requirements, estimating work efforts, and coordinating activities to meet project timelines. The daily work involves executing both manual and automated test cases, managing defects, and analyzing outcomes to improve processes. To succeed, you must possess expertise in Guidewire ClaimCenter and PolicyCenter using the GT-UI Framework. Required technical skills include Playwright, WebDriverIO, Selenium, Cucumber BDD, Postman, Karate, JMeter, and CI/CD tools like Jenkins and GitLab. This role addresses the complex challenge of ensuring high-quality software delivery within specialized insurance and business domain contexts through rigorous automated and manual testing methodologies.
Design optimized test scenarios and identify necessary test data and environment requirements for Guideware systems.
Plan testing activities by estimating work efforts, prioritizing tasks, and coordinating schedules to meet project timelines.
Execute manual and automated test cases using tools like Playwright, Selenium, and Cucumber BDD.
Perform API and performance testing using tools such as Postman, Karate, and JMeter.
Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitLab.
Analyze test outcomes to identify areas for process improvement and ensure high-quality results.
Report regular updates on testing progress, defect status, and overall outcomes to stakeholders.
What we're looking for
15+ years of QA automation and software testing experience, including leadership of QA strategy, test planning, execution, defect management, and release governance.
Strong expertise in Guidewire ClaimCenter and PolicyCenter, including automation of Guidewire workflows using the GT-UI Framework.
Hands-on experience with test automation tools including Playwright, WebDriverIO, Selenium, and Cucumber BDD.
Experience in API and performance testing using Postman, Karate, and JMeter.
Proficiency with CI/CD practices and tools, including Jenkins, GitLab, and automated testing integration.
Experience in designing and executing testing for applications, including creating test cases, identifying environment requirements, and performing manual and automated testing.
Experience with multiple ERP packages or industry products like SAP, Oracle, or Finnacle (preferred); knowledge of model-based, risk-based, or exploratory testing (preferred).
