The QA Engineer Lead – Guidewire joins the IBM Consulting team to design and execute testing for applications and systems implemented using Guidewire packages. This role involves designing optimized test scenarios, planning testing activities, estimating work efforts, and coordinating tasks to meet project timelines. The individual will execute test cases using both automation and manual methods, analyze outcomes for continuous improvement, and report status to stakeholders. Key technical requirements include expertise in Guidewire ClaimCenter and PolicyCenter, specifically automating workflows using the GT-UI Framework. Required tools and languages include Playwright, WebDriverIO, Selenium, Cucumber BDD, Postman, Karate, JMeter, and CI/CD tools like Jenkins and GitLab. The role solves complex business problems by ensuring high-quality software delivery within the insurance and enterprise package solution domain.
Design optimized test scenarios and identify test environment and data requirements for Guideware applications.
Estimate work efforts and prioritize testing tasks to meet project timelines and objectives.
Execute test cases using both manual and automated methods to ensure high-quality results.
Automate Guidewire workflows using the GT-UI Framework and tools like Playwright or Selenium.
Perform API and performance testing using tools such as Postman, Karate, and JMeter.
Analyze test outcomes to identify areas for continuous process improvement.
Provide regular updates on testing progress, defects, and outcomes to project stakeholders.
Manage release governance and defect tracking for software testing cycles.
What we're looking for
15+ years of QA automation and software testing experience, including leadership of QA strategy, test planning, execution, defect management, and release governance.
Strong expertise in Guidewire ClaimCenter and PolicyCenter, including automation of Guidewire workflows using the GT-UI Framework.
Hands-on experience with test automation tools including Playwright, WebDriverIO, Selenium, and Cucumber BDD.
Experience in API and performance testing using Postman, Karate, and JMeter.
Proficiency with CI/CD practices and tools, including Jenkins, GitLab, and automated testing integration.
Experience in designing and executing testing for applications, including creating test cases, identifying test environment and test data requirements, and manual/automated execution.
Experience with multiple ERP packages such as SAP, Oracle eBiz, or industry products like Oracle Flexcube, Finnacle, or Smarter Commerce Suites (preferred).
