QA Engineer Lead – Guideware serves as a critical role within the IBM Consulting team, focusing on the design and execution of testing for applications and systems implemented using Guidewire packages. The successful candidate will manage the full testing lifecycle, including designing optimized test scenarios, identifying data requirements, estimating work efforts, and coordinating activities to meet project timelines. Day-to-day responsibilities involve executing both manual and automated test cases while analyzing outcomes to improve processes. Technical expertise required includes Guidewire ClaimCenter, PolicyCenter, and the GT-UI Framework for workflow automation. The role demands proficiency in tools such as Playwright, WebDriverIO, Selenium, Cucumber BDD, Postman, Karate, and JMeter, alongside experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitLab. This position addresses complex business requirements by ensuring high-quality results within specialized insurance software environments.
Design optimized test scenarios and identify necessary test data and environment requirements for Guideware systems.
Plan testing activities by estimating work efforts, prioritizing tasks, and coordinating schedules to meet project timelines.
Execute manual and automated test cases using tools like Playwright, Selenium, and Cucumber BDD.
Perform API and performance testing using tools such as Postman, Karate, and JMeter.
Manage defect reporting and track the status of identified issues through the testing lifecycle.
Analyze test outcomes to identify areas for process improvement and optimization.
Provide regular updates on testing progress and results to project stakeholders.
What we're looking for
15+ years of QA automation and software testing experience, including leadership of QA strategy, test planning, execution, defect management, and release governance.
Strong expertise in Guidewire ClaimCenter and PolicyCenter, including automation of Guidewire workflows using the GT-UI Framework.
Hands-on experience with test automation tools including Playwright, WebDriverIO, Selenium, and Cucumber BDD.
Experience in API and performance testing using Postman, Karate, and JMeter.
Proficiency with CI/CD practices and tools, including Jenkins, GitLab, and automated testing integration.
Experience in designing and executing testing for applications, identifying test data requirements, and analyzing outcomes to optimize processes.
Experience with multiple ERP packages or industry products like SAP, Oracle, or Finnacle (preferred); knowledge of model-based, risk-based, or exploratory testing (preferred).
