TL;DR · Project Manager, Employee Experience & HR Technology

Project Manager, Employee Experience & HR Technology serves as a critical link between HR Centers of Excellence and Global Information Systems to ensure project delivery within the HR Product Development Lifecycle framework. This role focuses on governance rather than direct execution, managing portfolio visibility, facilitating biweekly meetings, and maintaining the annual HR function roadmap in support of the VP of Employee Experience. The position requires coordinating intake, tracking risks, and ensuring technical alignment between business requirements and system configurations. Key skills include proficiency with tools like Jira, Smartsheet, or MS Project, along with experience in Workday and other enterprise platforms. The role solves the challenge of aligning complex HR initiatives with technical delivery teams by providing structured oversight, clear communication, and consistent governance to ensure seamless employee experience improvements across the organization.

What you'll do

  • Lead HR PMO meetings to drive structured discussions, track action items, and ensure follow-through across the project portfolio.
  • Ensure COE initiatives adhere to the HR Product Development Lifecycle (PDLC) framework by identifying gaps and providing feedback on plans.
  • Maintain portfolio-level visibility by tracking status, health, and milestones in PMO tools for leadership review.
  • Partner with the HR Technology leader to coordinate intake, planning, and roadmap inputs between business units and technical teams.
  • Support the VP of Employee Experience in developing and maintaining the annual HR function roadmap as a living document.
  • Translate complex technical progress into business-relevant terms for stakeholders and prepare materials for steering committees.
  • Coordinate change readiness activities including communication planning, training logistics, and go-live coordination across workstreams.
  • Drive continuous improvement by conducting post-implementation reviews and identifying ways to reduce friction in the delivery process.

What we're looking for

  • 5-8 years of experience in project management or PMO delivery within structured, governance-driven environments.
  • Experience in a PMO or portfolio management role facilitating governance meetings and maintaining portfolio visibility.
  • Experience working at the intersection of business stakeholders and technology delivery teams to maintain alignment.
  • Experience delivering or supporting HR Technology or enterprise platform initiatives, with Workday experience strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with project management and PMO tools such as Jira, Smartsheet, MS Project, or Asana.
  • Familiarity with structured delivery frameworks including Product Development Lifecycle (PDLC), Agile, hybrid, or waterfall.
  • Solid understanding of the employee lifecycle and core HR processes from hire to retire.
  • Ability to interpret technical requirements and Workday configuration scopes to communicate impact to non-technical stakeholders.
