JOB TITLE: Project Engineer-Mission Systems Programs
The Project Engineer-Mission Systems Programs leads Systems Engineering projects to develop custom communications systems, specifically tactical radio and networking solutions for critical military communications. Working within the Mission Systems Programs team, the Project Engineer manages the full project lifecycle, including defining technical requirements, designing, documenting, and costing systems. Key responsibilities include leading multi-discipline engineering teams, developing Systems Engineering Management Plans, and overseeing final integration and testing. The role requires expertise in HF, VHF, UHF, microwave, SATCOM, IP networks, and C4ISR systems design. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in project management, technical writing, and cost estimation. Necessary tools include Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, Visio, and MS Project. This role solves complex problems by integrating voice and data applications into various platforms like vehicles, ships, and aircraft.
Lead the design of custom communications systems including tactical radio, networking, and SATCOM solutions.
Manage a multi-discipline team of engineers to complete projects on time and within budget.
Develop and execute the Systems Engineering Management Plan to ensure quality and performance.
Oversee technical requirements, system costing, documentation, and final integration with manufacturing.
Identify and mitigate project risks while managing scope changes and replan activities.
Provide periodic management reports on schedule performance, cost at completion, and key metrics.
Lead proposal efforts by generating detailed cost estimates for non-recurring and recurring engineering.
Coordinate with contract management to provide technical requirements and guidance to outside vendors.
What we're looking for
Must have a BSEE/BSME/BSCE/BSSE and 6+ years of experience, a Master's Degree with 4+ years of experience, or 10+ years of related experience without a degree.
Must have 6+ years of demonstrated experience in project management of Systems Design and Systems Integration with relevant technologies.
Must be able to obtain a security clearance, which may only be granted to U.S. citizens.
Expertise in military-related engineering project management, tactical radio applications, IP networking, or C4ISR systems design (preferred).
Experience reviewing systems project engineering designs through build, test, and delivery phases (preferred).
Technical proposal experience including work breakdown structures, cost estimates, detailed scheduling, and technical writing (preferred).
Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, Visio, and MS Project (preferred).
PMP Certification, EVMS experience, or military service (preferred).
