JOB TITLE: Product Owner, VP - BXTI - BXMA Direct Trading
The Product Owner, VP - BXTI - BXMA Direct Trading joins the Blackstone Multi Asset Investing technology team to lead the product vision and roadmap for Direct Trading business lines. This role involves driving technology strategy by translating trader, portfolio manager, risk, and operations workflows into prioritized requirements for platforms supporting order management, execution, post-trade, market data, and analytics. The successful candidate will partner with engineering, design, and business stakeholders to deliver high-impact technology, managing backlogs and conducting product discovery to identify automation and data opportunities. Key requirements include experience with the trade lifecycle, OMS/EMS, and SQL. The role operates within a modern software development lifecycle using agile delivery, change control, and CI/CD practices to solve complex trading and investment infrastructure problems.
Drive technology strategy for Direct Trading business lines in partnership with investment, risk, and operations teams.
Own the product vision, roadmap, and backlog for platforms supporting order management, execution, and post-trade workflows.
Translate trader and portfolio manager workflows into prioritized requirements and clear technical specifications for engineering teams.
Run product discovery sessions to identify automation, data, and analytics opportunities across the trade lifecycle.
Lead prioritization across competing demands to balance time-sensitive trading needs with long-term platform investments.
Coordinate with internal platform teams and external vendors on integrations, shared services, and build-vs-buy decisions.
Define and track KPIs for platform adoption, performance, and business impact to report to senior leadership.
Promote a culture of product thinking, data, and AI within the technology organization through led working sessions.
What we're looking for
8+ years of product management experience building technology for trading, capital markets, or alternative investments.
Deep understanding of the trade lifecycle, OMS/EMS, market data, and post-trade workflows across various asset classes.
Demonstrated track record of shipping institutional-grade investment or trading technology in partnership with engineering teams.
Strong analytical skills including proficiency with SQL and modern data tools to validate hypotheses and measure outcomes.
Experience working within a technology team for a financial services firm (preferred for alternative asset management, hedge funds, or sell-side trading).
Proficiency in modern software development lifecycles, including agile delivery, change control, and CI/CD practices.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with business and technical coworkers and author documentation for various audiences.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
