The Product Operations Technical Specialist, Launched Effects joins the Launched Effects team to support the Altius family of autonomous drones. This technical role operates at the intersection of hardware engineering, software development, and military operations. You will identify, triage, and root-cause complex electromechanical failures across the global fleet by analyzing telemetry and logs to isolate hardware, software, and networking issues. Key skills include using Linux command-line tools, Bash, Zsh, and observability platforms like Grafana, PagerDuty, and Jira. You will also utilize SQL or Palantir Foundry for trend analysis. This role solves critical reliability problems for tube-launched loitering munitions, ensuring these autonomous aircraft maintain high operational readiness in modern battlefield environments.
Identify, triage, and root-cause product incidents across the global Altius fleet.
Perform log reviews and telemetry analysis using Linux and command-line tools to isolate hardware, software, and networking failures.
Partner with engineering teams to convert field failures into permanent product design changes and systemic reliability improvements.
Analyze system failure data to define trends and inform proactive sustainment processes and resource allocation.
Provide technical support to global users by managing customer-facing incidents and communicating clear resolutions.
Create runbooks, triage procedures, and technical guidance to scale sustainment operations.
Improve the quality of fleet observability and health telemetry in coordination with engineering and mission teams.
What we're looking for
2+ years of professional experience supporting, troubleshooting, or maintaining complex aerospace, robotics, automotive, defense, or electromechanical systems.
Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent hands-on military, aerospace, or industrial technical experience.
Strong aptitude for problem-solving at the interface of hardware, software, and networking in unstructured situations.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and resolve issues across the depth and breadth of a technical system.
Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity.
Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security clearance.
Based in or willing to relocate to the Atlanta, GA area.
Experience supporting loitering munitions, tactical missiles, or UAS as a DoD contractor or military end-user (preferred).
