Principal Systems Analyst

What you'll do

• Analyze business processes and data flows to develop technology solutions for life insurance and personal investing products.
• Gather and refine requirements using use cases and user stories within Agile environments.
• Perform detailed data analysis and validation using structured queries across large datasets and cloud-based frameworks.
• Design technical documentation including domain models, data flow diagrams, sequence diagrams, and interface specifications.
• Execute API testing and validation while ensuring security standards for tokens and access control.
• Define logical data models, data lineage, PII classification, and data quality rules.
• Troubleshoot defects and perform root cause analysis in test and production environments.
• Manage system observability through logs, metrics, traces, and the implementation of circuit breakers and feature flags.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field and five years of experience as a Principal Systems Analyst.
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field and three years of experience as a Principal Systems Analyst.
• Experience translating complex financial products and regulatory requirements into scalable life insurance and personal investing systems.
• Expertise in event-driven microservices architecture, REST APIs, SQL/NoSQL databases, Snowflake, and AWS.
• Proficiency in ETL pipelines, cloud data processing, and infrastructure as code practices within cloud architectures.
• Ability to create technical diagrams (context, domain, flow, sequence) using Microsoft Visio or Draw.io.
• Experience with tools including Postman, Bruno, Splunk, Datadog, Excel, Confluence, PowerBI, IntelliJ, and GitHub.
• Proficiency in mapping schemas using XML, JSON, XSD, AWS Lambda, Informatica, and SOAP UI.
