The Principal System Administrator/ System Administrator joins the Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Sector team at Ellsworth AFB to provide critical support for Ground Systems multi-user computer systems. This role involves managing flight operations and maintenance systems, where the individual will account for, control, and deploy equipment while configuring user, administrator, and service accounts. Daily responsibilities include performing field integration, troubleshooting, and repairing communication systems in military environments such as flightlines, hangars, and command-and-control centers. The position requires technical proficiency with STIG compliance and the Microsoft Office suite to manage updates, security patches, and data movement issues. The work focuses on solving complex technical problems within a military flight operations environment, ensuring reliable connectivity between Ground Systems and external networks while providing 24/5 on-site administration support and performing trend analysis for responsible engineers.
Provide real-time support for multi-user computer systems supporting flight operations and maintenance.
Configure user, administrator, and service accounts while managing equipment deployment.
Resolve technical and data movement issues between Ground Systems and external systems.
Perform field integration, troubleshooting, and repair of communications systems in military environments.
Provide system administration support through updates, configurations, security patches, and technical feedback.
Communicate complex technical issues to local support teams, Main Operation Bases, and Responsible Engineers.
Analyze supplier design data and define functional test requirements for system integration.
Perform trend analysis and provide redlines to existing procedures to ensure operational success.
What we're looking for
Must have a High School diploma/GED and 6 years of experience, an Associate’s Degree and 4 years, or a Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years for Systems Administrator.
Must have a High School diploma/GED and 9 years of experience, an Associate’s Degree and 7 years, a Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years, or a Master’s Degree and 3 years for Principal Systems Administrator.
Ability to hold or maintain a final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance.
Must be a U.S. citizen.
Experience with STIG compliance.
Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule including extended shifts, holidays, weekends, and on-call status (preferred).
Active Top Secret clearance, Special Program Access, remote cloud architecture experience, or flightline/communications systems experience (preferred).
