The Principal System Administrator/ System Administrator role involves providing real-time support for Ground Systems multi-user computer systems that facilitate flight operations and maintenance. Working within the Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Sector, the individual will manage account configurations, coordinate data movement between internal and external systems, and perform field integration, troubleshooting, and repair of communication systems in environments including flightlines, hangars, and command-and-control centers. Key responsibilities include performing system updates, security patches, and trend analysis while ensuring adherence to established procedures. The role requires proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and STIG compliance. Candidates must navigate complex technical issues involving ground and flight operations infrastructure. Preferred experience includes remote cloud architecture and Air Force flight communications systems. This position addresses critical communication and data integrity challenges within a military flight operations environment.
Provide real-time support for multi-user computer systems supporting flight operations and maintenance.
Account for, control, and deploy equipment in military flight operation environments.
Configure user, administrator, and service accounts while managing security patches and updates.
Resolve technical and data movement issues between Ground Systems and external systems.
Perform field integration, troubleshooting, and repair of communication systems on the flightline and in command centers.
Analyze supplier design data and define functional test requirements for system integration.
Communicate complex technical issues to local support teams and Responsible Engineers.
Conduct trend analysis and provide feedback to engineers regarding system performance.
What we're looking for
Must have a High School diploma/GED and 6 years of experience, an Associate’s Degree and 4 years, or a Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of Systems Administration experience.
For Principal level, must have a High School diploma/GED and 9 years, an Associate’s Degree and 7 years, a Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years, or a Master’s and 3 years of experience.
Must be able to transfer and maintain a final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance.
Experience with STIG compliance.
Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule including extended shifts, holidays, weekends, and on-call status.
Active Top Secret clearance, Special Program Access, remote cloud architecture experience, or Air Force flightline/communications experience (preferred).
