Sr Principal System Administrator
The Sr Principal System Administrator joins the Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Sector team to provide critical support for Ground Systems multi-user computer systems that facilitate flight operations and maintenance. This role involves managing user, administrator, and service accounts while coordinating with partners to resolve technical data movement issues between internal and external systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing field integration, troubleshooting, and repairing communication systems in military environments such as flightlines, hangars, and command-and-control centers. The position requires expertise in STIG compliance and the Microsoft Office suite to manage system updates, security patches, and configuration feedback. The role addresses technical challenges within a military flight operations environment, ensuring reliable communications and infrastructure for ground and flight activities through rigorous adherence to procedures, trend analysis, and collaborative troubleshooting with onsite personnel and responsible engineers.
Provide real-time support for multi-user computer systems supporting flight operations and maintenance.
Configure user, administrator, and service accounts while managing equipment deployment.
Resolve technical and data movement issues between Ground Systems and external systems.
Perform field integration, troubleshooting, and repair of communications systems in military environments.
Provide system administration support through updates, configurations, security patches, and feedback to engineers.
Communicate complex technical issues to local support teams and Main Operation Bases.
Analyze supplier design data and define functional test requirements for system integration.
Perform trend analysis and provide on-site end-user systems administration support.
What we're looking for
Must have a High School diploma and 12 years of experience, an Associate’s degree and 10 years, a Bachelor’s and 8 years, or a Master’s and 6 years of Systems Administration experience.
Must possess a current U.S. government Secret clearance (must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation).
Experience with STIG compliance is required.
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite is required.
Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule including extended shifts, holidays, weekends, and on-call status.
Active U.S. government Top Secret clearance (preferred).
Experience with remote cloud architecture, Air Force flightline environments, or Air Force flight communications systems (preferred).
