Principal Substation Electrical Engineer, Regional Datacenter Engineering

What you'll do

• Develop High Voltage Substation designs from Basis of Design to Issue for Construction for new and retrofit projects.
• Lead A/E consultants in designing and coordinating High Voltage Substation Electrical and SCADA systems.
• Validate utility interconnection requirements by collaborating with utility providers and internal energy teams.
• Manage substation and SCADA designs through procurement, bidding, manufacturing, delivery, and on-site installation.
• Oversee specification and drawing development for electrical systems, including sequences of operation and network topology.
• Perform technical reviews of lease and colocation datacenter spaces for compliance with Microsoft requirements.
• Provide EMT Modeling support and review for Utility Grid and Data Center builds.
• Assist operations teams with strategic improvements for substation and SCADA equipment and systems.

What we're looking for

• Must have a Doctorate in Electrical Engineering with 3+ years of experience, a Master's with 6+ years, or a Bachelor's with 8+ years of experience.
• Must provide proof of United States citizenship via a valid passport.
• Must be able to pass a Microsoft Cloud background check and other government security screenings.
• Must have the capability of achieving PE licensure.
• Must have a detailed understanding of datacenter electrical engineering, power monitoring systems, and critical environment network topology.
• Must be able to manage consultants and oversee specification and drawing development for electrical systems.
• Must be able to travel occasionally for factory witness testing and final commissioning.
• Preferred: Electrical Professional Engineer with expertise in High Voltage and Data Center electrical engineering.
