Principal Solution Architecture

What you'll do

• Design application architecture across distributed platforms using microservices, event-driven patterns, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Define and enforce architectural standards, patterns, and best practices across all engineering teams.
• Design streaming and batch-based systems to support real-time and scheduled data flows.
• Shape and guide the architecture of message-based systems utilizing Kafka or similar platforms.
• Develop and oversee data architecture and integration strategies to ensure secure and efficient data flow.
• Own end-to-end solution architecture from ideation through implementation, including documentation of decisions and diagrams.
• Review engineering designs and code to ensure alignment with security, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
• Translate complex business requirements into robust, scalable technical solutions for stakeholders.

What we're looking for

• BS degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of relevant work experience.
• 6+ years of work experience in the capital markets industry (preferred).
• Demonstrated experience in event-driven and message-based systems, transaction processing systems, and distributed or parallel computing.
• Experience designing application architectures for distributed and enterprise platforms, including microservices and streaming or batch-based applications.
• Experience architecting large-scale distributed systems and Kubernetes-based deployment topologies for stateless services.
• Software development experience in Java, Python, or C# for high-throughput, low-latency services.
• Strong knowledge of Kafka, OAuth2/OIDC, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and Cloud ecosystems (AWS, PaaS, K8s).
