The Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Sector is seeking a Principal Network Communications/ Network Communications to join the team in Melbourne, FL. This role provides real-time support for network Ground Systems during flight operations and maintenance, focusing on fault isolation, remediation, and resolution. The individual will perform field integration, troubleshooting, and repair of communications systems in military flight operations environments, including flightlines, hangars, and command-and-control centers. Key responsibilities include managing LAN, WAN, and Cloud based networks, configuring encryption devices like TACLANES, and ensuring STIG compliance. Candidates must utilize network analysis tools such as WireShark, Opnet, and SolarWinds. The position involves solving complex connectivity and data movement issues between Ground Systems and external networks to support critical ground and flight operations within a military aviation context.
Provide real-time support for network Ground Systems during flight operations and maintenance.
Perform field integration, troubleshooting, and repair of communications systems in military flight environments.
Account for, control, and deploy network equipment.
Resolve connectivity and data movement issues between Ground Systems and external networks.
Provide local network management through updates, configurations, security patches, and drawings.
Lead air crew engagement to solve complex technical problems during operations.
Review supplier design data and define functional test requirements for system integration.
Perform trend analysis and communicate complex technical issues to Responsible Engineers.
What we're looking for
Must have a High School diploma/GED and 6 years of experience, an Associate’s Degree and 4 years, a Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years, or a Master’s Degree.
Must have a High School diploma/GED and 9 years of experience, an Associate’s Degree and 7 years, a Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years, or a Master’s Degree and 3 years.
Must possess a current CompTIA Security Plus (or higher) certification.
Must be able to transfer and maintain a final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance.
Must be a U.S. citizen.
Experience with STIG compliance, LAN/WAN/Cloud network design, and network hardware installation is required.
Experience configuring encryption devices (TACLANES) and using network analysis tools like WireShark or SolarWinds is required.
Active U.S. government Top Secret clearance, Special Program Access, and Air Force flightline experience are preferred.
