The Network Communications/ Principal Network Communications role involves providing real-time support for network Ground Systems during flight operations and maintenance at Ellsworth AFB. The selected individual will perform fault isolation, remediation, and resolution for communications and networking issues while managing the deployment of equipment. Day-to-day responsibilities include field integration, troubleshooting, and repairing systems in flightline, hangar, and command-and-control environments. The position requires expertise in LAN, WAN, and Cloud based networks, as well as experience with STIG compliance and encryption devices like TACLANES. Candidates must be proficient with network analysis tools such as WireShark, Opnet, and SolarWinds, alongside the Microsoft Office suite. This role addresses critical connectivity and data movement challenges between Ground Systems and external networks within a military flight operations environment to ensure seamless communication for aircraft and ground personnel.
Provide real-time support for network Ground Systems during flight operations and maintenance.
Perform fault isolation, remediation, and resolution for communication and networking issues.
Execute field integration, troubleshooting, and repair of systems in flightline, hangar, and command centers.
Manage local networks through updates, configurations, security patches, and technical drawings.
Coordinate with partners to resolve connectivity and data movement issues between Ground Systems and external networks.
Analyze supplier design data and define functional test requirements for system integration.
Provide 24/7 on-site support for the network operations of the Ground Communications Interface.
Lead air crew engagement to solve complex technical problems during active operations.
What we're looking for
Must have a High School diploma/GED, Associate’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, or Master’s Degree based on specific experience levels for Network Communications or Principal roles.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government Secret clearance.
Current CompTIA Security Plus (or higher) certification.
Experience with STIG compliance.
Experience designing and maintaining LAN, WAN, and Cloud based networks.
Experience configuring, installing, and maintaining network hardware and encryption devices (TACLANES).
Experience using network analysis tools such as WireShark, Opnet, or SolarWinds.
Active U.S. government Top Secret clearance and Special Program Access (preferred).
