You will also mentor engineers and collaborate with product managers to balance user experience with technical constraints while managing frontend infrastructure, CDN strategies, and API integrations via GraphQL or REST.

What you'll do

  • Lead the development of accessible, performant, and user-centered web applications for government customers.
  • Design and implement modern frontend architectures, development pipelines, and deployment infrastructure.
  • Build and maintain component libraries, design systems, and shared frontend infrastructure to improve team velocity.
  • Ensure all products comply with accessibility standards including Section 508 and WCAG requirements.
  • Mentor and coach engineers at all levels on frontend technologies and career development pathways.
  • Influence technical decisions across teams and serve as a strategic advisor on frontend initiatives.

What we're looking for

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • 10+ years of related experience in software engineering or frontend development.
  • Proficiency in modern JavaScript, TypeScript, and web platform APIs.
  • Experience architecting and implementing large-scale applications using React and/or Angular.
  • Expertise in web accessibility standards including WCAG 2.1 AA and Section 508 compliance.
  • Experience with frontend build tools (Webpack, Vite, pnpm) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proficiency in automated testing frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, or Jest.
  • Experience with AWS, web applications, and web platforms.
