The Principal Engineer, Systems Architecture Engineering joins a team focused on critical digital infrastructure, specifically providing power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and mission-critical applications. This hands-on technical leadership role involves defining integrated data center and modular systems architectures that combine power, cooling, IT infrastructure, controls, and software into a coordinated platform. The individual will develop reference architectures for modular and stick-built data centers, high-density compute product lines, system-level interfaces, and complex controls systems. Key responsibilities include creating models, specifications, block diagrams, and technical requirements while leading the development of a reference design library from concept to production. Required expertise includes electrical, mechanical, and systems engineering across power delivery, thermal management, telemetry, and industrial automation. The role solves the challenge of integrating disparate subsystems into a unified, productized infrastructure for hyperscale and neocloud environments.
Define integrated data center and modular systems architectures for power, cooling, IT infrastructure, and controls.
Create reference architectures for modular data centers and high-density compute product lines.
Develop complex controls systems architecture including telemetry and AI-driven optimization.
Establish system interfaces, integration standards, block diagrams, and technical requirements for coordinated platforms.
Lead the development of a reference design library from early concept through production-level maturity.
Ensure end-to-end platform feasibility, reliability, and manufacturability by partnering with cross-functional engineering teams.
Conduct technical due diligence for acquisitions, partnerships, and architecture-impacting technology investments.
Represent the company in strategic architecture discussions with hyperscalers and other technology partners.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Master's degree is preferred or equivalent experience.
12+ years of experience in systems architecture, data center infrastructure, controls, power/cooling integration, or complex electromechanical platform design.
Demonstrated leadership in electrical, mechanical, and/or systems architecture engineering disciplines.
Strong technical breadth across power delivery, thermal management, controls, telemetry, IT infrastructure, automation, and modular systems.
Experience defining architecture specifications, interface standards, system models, product requirements, and reference designs.
Ability to lead cross-functional technical decision-making in high-complexity engineering environments.
Preferred experience with hyperscale data centers, AI infrastructure, modular infrastructure, industrial automation, or critical power/cooling systems.
