Principal Engineer Automation serves as a technical advisor to senior leadership, influencing the architecture of complex systems including network automation services, data systems, and cloud-native technologies. The role involves designing production-grade software platforms, microservices, and automated workflows while establishing engineering standards for code quality, security, and observability. You will build internal developer platforms that provide "paved roads" to reduce operational toil and improve productivity through reusable APIs and SDKs. Key responsibilities include developing durable workflows using Temporal or Celery, managing containerized services via Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift, and implementing Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and Ansible. The role requires expertise in Python, Go, Java, or C#, alongside experience with REST, gRPC, and message queues. You will solve complex problems involving distributed systems, automated CI/CD pipelines, and AI-assisted engineering tools to ensure resilient infrastructure.
Design and develop production-grade software platforms, microservices, and APIs to enable enterprise-wide network and infrastructure capabilities.
Architect distributed, event-driven systems with defined service boundaries, data contracts, and robust failure handling models.
Build internal engineering platforms that provide self-service automation, "paved roads," and standardized developer experiences.

What we're looking for
7+ years of engineering experience in fields like software, platform, cloud, infrastructure, network automation, SRE, or NRE.
5+ years of experience designing, developing, testing, and supporting production-grade software, distributed systems, or enterprise integration services.
3+ years of advanced software development using Python and at least one other modern language like Go, Java, C#, .NET, or TypeScript.
3+ years of experience designing and developing APIs, microservices, asynchronous services, event-driven systems, or workflow services.
3+ years of experience with Git-based workflows, CI/CD, automated testing, versioning, and release management.
3+ years of experience deploying or supporting containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, or similar platforms.
3+ years of experience integrating systems via REST APIs, webhooks, messaging, events, SDKs, or service interfaces.
3+ years of experience designing for scalability, availability, resiliency, observability, security, and operational support.
