Principal Data Scientist, Detection

What you'll do

• Lead the research, design, and evaluation of detection models for automated and malicious activity.
• Mentor team members on identifying patterns that distinguish adversaries from legitimate users.
• Own the detection measurement framework by defining metrics and evaluation strategies for noisy data.
• Drive the adoption of AI/ML techniques and represent the company in the research community.
• Partner with ML, Data, and Product teams to align detection strategies with company priorities.
• Shape long-term detection strategies by identifying gaps across multiple product areas.

What we're looking for

• You must have at least 8-10 years of professional experience in Data Science, ML Engineering, or Software Engineering.
• You must have experience in fraud, abuse, and/or bot detection on large, high-velocity traffic.
• You must have solid fundamentals in applied statistics, machine learning, and AI methodology.
• You must be very comfortable with Python and SQL in production environments.
• You must have the ability to make ambiguous, high-stakes technical decisions with incomplete information.
• You should be able to build detections when ground truth is scarce, weak, delayed, or absent (preferred).
• You should be disciplined in applying strong programming and engineering best practices in both research and production code (preferred).
• Export control laws, including the U.S. Export Administration Regulations.
