What you'll do

Review and analyze technical requirements to incorporate them into end-to-end system architectures.
Implement engineering changes to the system as required by the program.
Complete network configurations and coordinate with peers, SMEs, and government engineers.
Advise on the integration of new emerging industry technologies into program systems.
Work closely with engineers and technicians within a lab environment.
Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge to improve procedures and processes.
Support the enterprise-wide digital transformation using Model-based Engineering, DevSecOps, and Agile practices.

What we're looking for

Must be a US Citizen.
Must possess a current/active DoD Secret clearance.
Must have a Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience, a Master's with 3 years, or a STEM PhD with 1 year.
An additional 4 years of relevant experience can be considered in lieu of a Bachelor degree.
Must have advanced and in-depth technical knowledge of Red Hat and/or other Linux operating systems.
Must have experience utilizing and working with Splunk.
Must have knowledge of STIGs and STIG implementation plus DNS, specifically Linux BIND.
Must have scripting/programming experience in Bash, Shell, Ansible, or Python.
Must be able to work full-time on-site at the San Diego Spectrum Center campus.
Must be able to travel 10% of the time.
Experience with imaging, backup and restore software and scripting (preferred).
Experience leading and managing internal programs and delegating tasks to engineers (preferred).
Experience with containers such as Docker, Red Hat OpenShift, or Kubernetes (preferred).
Strong experience with virtualization platforms like VMWare, KVM, Hyper-V, or RH-V (preferred).
Ability to work independently and mentor junior engineers (preferred).
Ability to work a flexible schedule including 2nd shift, RDO Fridays, or weekends (preferred).
Basic to advanced knowledge of networking systems and iSCSI connectivity (preferred).
Experience in design, implementation, and sustainment of Linux/Unix or Containerization technologies (preferred).
