The Principal Cloud Architect joins the IT team to define and execute the organization’s comprehensive cloud strategy. This role involves designing, deploying, and managing cloud-based architecture across public, private, and hybrid environments to ensure scalability, security, and high availability. The architect will develop cloud adoption plans, optimize systems for disaster recovery, and identify performance bottlenecks or security vulnerabilities. Key technical requirements include a Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect AZ-305 certification and experience with Azure Shell or PowerShell scripting. The position requires proficiency in Windows and Linux server architectures, containers, and orchestration technologies. Candidates must understand networked storage, load balancing, and application layer protocols like HTTP/S and TCP/IP. Additionally, experience with SSO software such as Okta or ADFS is necessary to support complex infrastructure solutions.
Develop and maintain a cloud strategy aligned with business and technical requirements.
Design, deploy, and manage cloud-based architecture across public, private, and hybrid environments.
Define cloud adoption processes to coordinate organizational alignment and ensure business continuity.
Evaluate and select cloud technologies, platforms, and tools to drive innovation.
Optimize cloud-based systems for high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery.
Recommend monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure infrastructure health and performance.
Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and operational issues in the cloud.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's or Master's degree, preferably in Computer Science related expertise.
10+ years of experience spanning at least two IT disciplines, including technical cloud architecture, network management, middleware, database management, or operations.
Certification in Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect AZ-305 is required.
Other industry related certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Arcitura Certified Cloud Architect are highly desired (preferred).
Experience with Azure Shell scripting and PowerShell scripting.
Knowledge of Windows Server architecture (2016, 2019, IIS) and Linux Server architecture (RHEL, Oracle Linux, Amazon Linux).
Experience with containers, orchestration technologies, and high availability solutions including clustering, failover, and disaster recovery.
Demonstrated abilities with SSO-related software such as AADConnect, ADFS, Ping Identity, OpenSSO, oAuth, Okta, or other SAML & OpenID Connect providers.
