JOB TITLE: Principal, Business Development 1 The Principal Technical Strategy & Business Development Lead joins the team to create and execute growth strategies for the Tactical Data Links and Telemetry & RF Systems portfolios. This role involves identifying emerging operational needs, developing innovative technical solutions, and creating acquisition and funding strategies to generate new business opportunities. The individual will serve as a technical advisor to U.S. Government and international customers, shaping the future of resilient communications, Link 16 technologies, and advanced telemetry capabilities. Key responsibilities include partnering with Engineering and Product Management to define roadmaps and translating requirements into funded programs. Required skills include expertise in aerospace, defense, tactical communications, and networking. The role focuses on solving capability gaps in tactical networking, CJADC2, software-defined radio, and coalition interoperability across airborne, maritime, and ground systems.

What you'll do

Develop and execute long-range growth strategies for Tactical Data Links and Telemetry & RF Systems portfolios.
Build strategic relationships with DoD, coalition, and industry stakeholders to influence future programs before formal acquisition begins.
Identify emerging mission needs and capability gaps to drive new product concepts and technology investments.
Partner with Engineering and Product Management to define roadmaps and transition customer requirements into technical solutions.
Conduct technical and business assessments of opportunities by evaluating value, feasibility, and revenue potential.
Create business cases and capture strategies to move opportunities from initial concept to funded programs.
Shape acquisition and funding strategies using Programs of Record, OTAs, SBIRs, CRADAs, and other government pathways.
Maintain market, budget, and technology intelligence to inform executive decision-making regarding growth opportunities.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Business, or a related technical discipline.
Minimum 12 years of experience in aerospace, defense, tactical communications, networking, or mission systems (or 16 years if no degree).
Demonstrated experience in Business Development, Strategy, Engineering, Product Management, Capture Management, or Program Management.
Experience working with U.S. Department of Defense acquisition organizations.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
Extensive knowledge of Tactical Data Links, Link 16, resilient communications, and Software Defined Radio architectures (preferred).
Active Secret or Top Secret Security Clearance (preferred).
U.S. citizens.
