Principal Business Analyst

What you'll do

• Translate business strategies and goals into clear functional and non-functional requirements.
• Document "as is" and "to be" business processes for scientific lab and data workflows.
• Map information system connections, data flows, and provide detailed data mapping and dictionaries.
• Write SQL statements to investigate data across various database types and data lakes.
• Maintain and prioritize the development team's backlog while managing stakeholder expectations.
• Identify and resolve root cause data quality issues in collaboration with IT partners.
• Partner with scientists to identify process improvements and define system goals for research tools.

What we're looking for

• Must have a Master’s degree in a life science with experience in computer science or information technology.
• Must have 5–8+ years of experience in a research, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or scientific laboratory environment.
• Previous experience in the biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical industry is required.
• Must be able to use tools such as Laboratory Information Management Systems, SQL databases, and data modeling frameworks.
• Experience with biological laboratory techniques, bioinformatics methods, and relational database concepts (preferred).
• Experience with IT project and software development lifecycle methodologies (preferred).
• Experience managing or leading software development projects (preferred).
