Principal - Architecture (AI, Unified Commerce) serves as a senior leader within the Architecture Group under the CTO Organization. This role drives the vision, design, and execution of an integrated technology architecture that powers seamless, intelligent, and personalized customer experiences across digital and physical touchpoints. The architect will champion Agentic Commerce patterns, including autonomous shopping agents and AI-driven fulfillment orchestration, while integrating commerce ecosystems with real-time decision engines, customer data platforms, and recommendation systems. Key responsibilities include defining architectural principles for scaling AI/ML use cases using cloud-native platforms like GCP and AWS, serverless models, and data mesh strategies. The role requires expertise in headless eCommerce, microservices, event-driven systems like Kafka, and GenAI frameworks such as Vertex AI or Amazon Bedrock to solve complex problems in retail, supply chain, and omnichannel fulfillment.
Integrate commerce ecosystems with real-time decision engines, customer data platforms, and recommendation systems.
Define architectural principles to scale AI/ML use cases using cloud-native platforms and data mesh strategies.
Architect future-ready omnichannel platforms supporting unified services like BOPIS and same-day delivery.
Lead architectural reviews and governance for all AI-based and connected commerce projects.
Guide experimentation with GenAI, LLMs, and autonomous agents across marketing and fulfillment domains.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
10+ years of experience in architecture are required.
At least 5+ years of experience in commerce or omnichannel large-scale transformation roles are required.
Experience architecting and delivering platforms including Headless eCommerce, Digital Experience Platforms, CDPs, and Retail POS/OMS systems is required.
Deep knowledge of cloud-native architectures, microservices, event-driven systems (Kafka, GCP Pub/Sub), and serverless patterns is required.
Experience integrating AI/ML services into customer-facing applications in real-time or large-scale environments is required.
Familiarity with Agentic AI frameworks, commerce-focused LLMs, and platforms like Vertex AI, Amazon Bedrock, or Azure OpenAI is required.
Knowledge of data pipelines, MLOps, and MACH architecture principles is required.
